
Introduction to Hand Embroidery Class (Beginner - Embroidery)
Come and join us as we learn about the art of slow stitching; the art of hand embroidery. Unplug and discover a new tactile craft. In this beginner friendly workshop, we’ll introduce you to the world of creating stunning textured art with thread.Embroidery can be used for a variety of projects and is a wonderful way to add a personalized touch to any gift. Embroidery is also a wonderfully portable textile craft. Perfect for those long summer road trips, lazy days at the cottage and can easily be packed and toted along pretty much anywhere.
You will learn how to:
- Thread your needle
- Decided how many strands of floss thread are needed
- Properly place your fabric in your hoop
- Types of fabrics to stitch on
- Transfer designs onto fabric
- Stitch a variety of stitches
- Secure your threads
You will need:

This class will come with a kit, however, you may want to use a thimble or a magnetic needle minder.
We will provide:
- The use of all the tools necessary for a successful project.Â
- A kit with a hoop, DMC floss, fabric and needles
- Printed pattern and tutorial pages

Minimum enrollment is 3, maximum is 6.Â
